Guitarist and teacher Andrew Marino has performed throughout his native New York State, Maryland, and beyond as a soloist and in chamber groups. Andrew is a top prizewinner in several competitions, including the Crane School of Music Chamber Music Competition and Appalachian State University’s GuitarFest Competition. He has also participated in master classes with prominent guitarists Benjamin Verdery, Johannes Möller, Stephen Aron, Stanley Yates and Jason Vieaux. Andrew is currently on the faculty of both the International School of Music in Bethesda, MD and Cockeysville Music Education Center in Cockeysville, MD. He teaches a variety of musical styles to students ranging in age from pre-school to adult. In addition to his studio teaching Andrew teaches the Guitar Methods course to Music Education majors at the Peabody Conservatory. Andrew holds the degree of Master of Music in Guitar Performance/Pedagogy from the Peabody Conservatory. He graduated summa cum laude from the Crane School of Music of the State University of New York at Potsdam, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance. He is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Musical Arts program at the Peabody Conservatory, where he is a full-time graduate assistant.
